About Ms. Sholtis!
I grew up in Olney, Maryland, and still live there to this day. I went to Montgomery County Public Schools as a child, and now teach in them. I have a wonderful family including my husband Carlos and our one year old son Lucas. I enjoy being outdoors, being at the beach, going out to eat, and spending time with my family.
I went to The University of Maryland, where I received my Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education. I then attended Walden University online, where I received my Master's Degree in Elementary Literacy and Mathematics.
This is my fifth year teaching Kindergarten at Gaithersburg Elementary School. I am having such a great time teaching. I love children, and they truly are the real reason I decided to become a teacher in the first place. The children make my job an adventure every day, and keep me on my toes! I enjoy learning myself as well. Teachers can never learn too much, and I try to learn something new every day.
I have recently been blessed to get a Promethean Board in my classroom. I now spend most of my free time exploring it and learning how to use it. The children love it as much as I do, and I want to give them as many meaningful experiences with it as I can.
